May is Get Caught Reading Month!

May is National “Get Caught Reading” Month!
Get Caught Reading celebrates the enjoyment, adventures, and fun of reading!
Get Caught Reading is a year-round campaign to promote the fun of reading books for all ages. Launched in 1999 by the Association of American Publishers and is now managed by Every Child a Reader. Get Caught Reading Month in May is all about reading books and raising awareness regarding the advantages of indulging in literature. The genres of books you can read include nonfiction, history, fables, etc. — the options are unlimited.
Stop by the library and get your hands on some books and start reading! You can also order books through our Chinook Library Network. Reading can also be enjoyable from Library2Go, the Oregon Digital Library Consortium for downloading eBooks and audiobooks.
In connecting books to children and adults’ libraries and librarians provide literacy tools, reference resources, and champion young people’s and adults voices. Most importantly through reading, we celebrate one another- the enjoyment, adventures, and fun we have to learn about a variety of topics.
